Taylor Stakes GI [BC]
1 1/4 on Turf – Purse $750.00 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward
Woodbine Racetrack Toronto, Ontario, Canada
–Rain Rattle from Bears Stable, as expected went off heavily favored and looked like “the horse” the whole way Saturday. “Rattle” sat off the pace, then moved up and took over, never to look back and won with something in reserve. Congrats to the winning connections. Look At The Horizon from Patterson Stables ran a banger and almost provided the crowd with an upset of major proportions. The recent $7.50 claiming runner closed stoutly from the back of the pack to earn the silver medal and put a big smile on the face of the connections. It will be interesting to see where she shows up next. Explorer from Avenue Z closed up decent ground in the stretch to force a dead-heat with a tiring Ruths House from TwinTowers Racing. Always has to be considered a “game” effort by both horses when finishing in a dead-heat.
Of The Rest;
Rephrase from Mb Stables was sent out early as expected and tired late from the effort to drop back and finished fifth.
Present Tense, also from Mb Stables sat at the back of the pack the whole way but was unable to take advantage of his stablemates early heroics.
Dianas Fury from DJC Racing Stables broke a tad tardily and was unable to move up and had to settle for a seventh place finish.
Last Word Lucy, also from TwinTowers Racing flashed only positional speed today, sat right off the pace and tired in the stretch drive to run last.
*Jury Pool from John Henry was scratched.
