• Winless in 2026 but still running 94–100 figures.
• Last four races: competitive but lacks finishing punch.
• Best recent run: Nerud G3 – 3rd beaten a neck.

Trainer Influence

Storage Sense Stable tries to hit a graded stakes races in only their fourth career start and what a story it would be!!

Preview Summary

A classy sprinter with solid works, but his form is plateauing and the fact that the GOAT sold him for just $17 suggests this may be a hopeful entry rather than a winning one. Having said that he has proven ability, a great draw and is the reigning BC Sprint champion. Can this switch to turf result in one of the those HRP specials? It will be an interesting watch.

⭐ 2. Kidding – High Voltage

Works

• DMR turf drills: 1:09–1:34 range Very strong long‑distance turf works, but none sharp at sprint distances.

Form

• Excellent router form (G2 win, G3 win).
• 6f turf is too sharp; his late kick is built for 1m–1⅛m.

Trainer Influence

High Voltage is a patient barn, often placing horses in spots to build confidence. This looks like one of those ‘why not’ situations for the trainer who maybe following that slick sprint work in the hope that the HRP magic trip switch can work.

Preview Summary

Great horse but at eight it seems a very late switch to sprinting, Having said that how many times have we seen a good router go off the boil and then find a magic run in a sprint. He gets a great draw and like the horse inside him will be looking for the win that will have us all smiling and saying ‘that’s HRP for you’!

⭐ 3. Trouble Brewing – Maxmillion Farm

Works

• BEL 6f (T) 1:09.3 – 3/29 Best work of his career; signals major improvement.
• DMR turf works also sharp.

Form

• Consistent mid‑90s turf sprint figures.
• Has not won since 2025; tends to flatten late.

Trainer Influence

Maxmillion Farm is elite at turf placement. This entry is well‑spotted and the works suggest intent.

Preview Summary

A sneaky improver. Could surprise if pace collapses but a lot will depend on which gaming buttons the owner clicks. Went on the speed two back but faded but as a closer he comes too late so it will take a  bit of Maxmillion magic to get things right.

⭐ 4. Boy From Ipanema – D J C Racing Stables

Works

• MTH 1m turf 1:35.4 – 1/3 Strong stamina work, but nothing sharp at sprint distances.

Form

• All form is at 1–1½ miles.
• Cutting back to 6f is a major negative.

Trainer Influence

DJC is aggressive with placement, but this looks like an experiment.

Preview Summary

Wrong distance. Will be running late but too far back……. Or will he. This being HRP and as we have already mentioned a change in surface or trip can bring about an improved run and this looks like another blind gamble just like a couple of others here. He has the ability so a win really wouldn’t surprise.

⭐ 5. Lava Man – Mb Stables

• SA turf works: 1:08–1:09 range These are elite sprint works, showing explosive speed.
• PRX 6f turf 1:09.1 – 1/27 Best work in the field.

Form

• 2026 sprint form: 98, 97, 96, 101
• Multiple graded sprint wins.
• Best finishing kick in the race.

Trainer Influence

Mb Stables is the top sprint barn in the game. This horse is clearly primed for a peak effort.

Preview Summary

The horse to beat. Best works + best form + best trainer and one of the few that is proven in turf sprints at this level. Will be a strong favorite to win.

⭐ 6. Hanger 18 – John Henry

Works

• PRX 5f turf :57.4 – 3/10 Very sharp; shows speed and fitness.
• Prior turf works also strong.

Form

• 2026 form: 95, 96, 95
• Improving 4yo; two big runs in high‑value turf sprints.

Trainer Influence

John Henry is excellent with improving sprinters. This horse is clearly on the rise.

Preview Summary

Live longshot. Works and form both trending upward and is a proven sprinter of which there are few in this field. Likely to go midpack so will need some race engine favors to find a way past the inevitable one pacers.

⭐ 7. Neon Delite – Temulac Farm

Works

• CD 6f turf 1:09.3 – 2/7 Excellent.
• KEE 6f dirt 1:10.4 – 1/3 Shows versatility and sharpness.

Form

• 2026 turf sprint form: 98, 95, 94
• Consistent, reliable, tactical.

Trainer Influence

Temulac Farm places sprinters very well. This horse is always ready and rarely runs a bad race.

Preview Summary

May well use the wide gate speed push here and that could be the seven year olds best chance. If he can slot into a stalk or lead quickly he could be the dark horse in this race.

Race Summary

A very interesting race with some good sorts switching surfaces and/or trips to try and find a grade three and turn their careers around. Those types can cause a shock win so it may be worth having a Disney dollar on them in the off chance but if we are looking with a real life eye at this race then it looks like another stakes win for Mb Stables. Hanger 18 may be the biggest danger.
