The rail was on fire today and this race turned into a photocopy of the Champagne as different names seemed to replace the horses and we saw an eerily similar race. The draw was key here as after two wide draws and two deep closing performances this home bred turned into a stalker today and used the rail perfectly to run out an impressive winner. If it was a selection of the gaming buttons by the trainer then it was a genius move but just picking this race was genius enough as the filly seemed much happier on the dirt today after a failure on turf last time. She will go forward to the BC and after this smooth performance will certainly be a major contender.

It seemed the stable horses had decided to go on speed today as this one ran a very similar race to her stable companion in the Champagne. Again it may have been the trainer cleverly selecting gaming buttons or the race engine doing its thing but either way this one has more than earned her spot in the BC. She hasn’t managed to win for her new owner yet but with two grade one placings she is very close to the best and the BC will favor her experience and obvious heart.

The closers came but as usual the race was won by the time the jockeys decided to start their runs and this one ended up sharing third with an eye catching run. She is improving with each extra furlong she runs and she could end up being a KYO contender.

It is unusual to see a horse from this stable running as a deep closer but the car park draw gave her only two choices and either she or the trainer decided to take route B and come from the back. In fairness she ran a great race, I hadn’t put her as high as third and she certainly exceeded my expectations here with the sort of effort that put her on a few watch lists for the big races coming up over the longer trips.
