Impressive ONT Fashion Stakes Win Makes it Three in a Row for Daisen

ONT Fashion Stakes – GIII
$175.00 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward
6 Furlongs – Dirt
Woodbine – October 17, 2026

On the rail, Reflex Action came into the race with a packed resume of graded stakes success behind her and already having punched her ticket to the BC Filly & Mare Sprint race per the standings. On the far outside in post nine, Daisen was coming into the race with a two race win streak having just won her first stakes race of any kind with scant hope of getting into the BC starting gate. At the wire it was the horse that came out of gate nine who was the winner and the horse who came out of gate one finishing ninth. Crazy stuff, right? I definitely didn’t see it coming in that way.

Winner: Daisen
Owner/Trainer: London Racing
Jockey: E.J. Wilson
Breeder: London Racing (NJ) – Strategic Command/Limonata (Grandeur)

Was ridden aggressively from the opening bell and went right to the front along with Shared Adversity from post six. Those two established themselves as the early leaders through an opening quarter mile in :22.35. Shared Adversity put her head in front for a brief moment at the three furlong pole but Daisen was determined and fought right back and began to inch away from her early rival at the top of the stretch. After that there was no one who mounted a serious challenge to the wire. Very impressive win from the improving four year old filly.

Second: Shogun X
Owner/Trainer: Serenity Stables
Jockey: C. Jordan
Breeder: Aer Stables (ON) – Bold Ruler/Low Key Desires (Cherokee Desires)

Broke last and was not rushed to do much early settling at the back of the back along with fellow trailer Plain Pants Party. Began to gather some momentum around the turn but did not find her best stride until late after navigating through the traffic ahead of her. Finished best of the rest as a clear second best on the day.

Third: Tranquil Top
Owner/Trainer: Mb Stables
Jockey: R.W. Walcott
Breeder: Acber Farms (Pa) – Ben Nevis/Victorious Secret (Falling Angel)

Was off maybe a half step slower than the pacesetters and established a mid pack position just behind the immediate stalkers. Responded when asked to run into the stretch and had a good position to challenge the winner but could never gather enough of a rally to get to that one. Finished well enough to pass a tiring Shared Adversity late and grab third.

Fourth: Queen Kingdom
Owner/Trainer: Serenity Stables
Jockey: S. Civaci
Breeder: Aer Stables (NY) – Dehara/Bit Of Whimsy (Anoush Command)

Was in the catbird seat stalking behind the two frontrunners early in a perfect strategic position to pounce when asked. After a brisk half mile in :45.48 she came into the stretch with every chance but could not gain on the winner or outfinish the others to win a top three placing. Good effort to gain the last check.

Preview Pick: Reflex Action – Ninth and last. Not her day.

Once offered for a claiming price of $8.50, Daisen, the four year old London Racing home-bred filly is blossoming and improving race to race. She has now won three races in a row and after her initial stakes win last time out in the Liberty Bell she has now added a graded stakes score to her resume. She has now won seven of eighteen lifetime races and sees her career earnings climb to a total of $349.27. This was the first win in the race for London Racing and the second win for jockey E.J. Wilson who had previously won the ONT Fashion Stakes aboard British Chai for Mo Mentum Farm in 2018.
