The Maid Of The Mist ($200.00 Purse)
BEL- For Fillies Two Years Old Foaled In NY
One Mile on the Dirt
October 24, 2026

In the Maid Of The Mist, five fillies were looking to take down Dance Dance Dance, as that one certainly looked like the one to beat. While we did have her as our pick to win, there was another in the field who looked like her primary competitor, that being Lampley. In the end, it would come down to these two, but in a photo finish, it would be Lampley pulling out the victory. She is trained by Royalty Stables, who picks up his first win in the race! That’s also true for jockey A Fresu. Congratulations to them! The time of the win was 1:35.80, which is towards the quicker end of winning times while at BEL. Here’s a look at the race!

(1/4 Mile- :23.37)- Dance Dance Dance goes right to the front for Mb Stables as she looks to show why she is the post time favorite, and will lead by a length. The next two spots belong to D J C Racing Stables, as Material World takes the second lane, a length ahead of Gilgo, who runs on the outside. Torch Warrior holds her spot on the rail in the middle of the pack, a length ahead of our eventual winner from Royalty Stables, Lampley. She’s four lengths from the front, while Curly Hair Katherine (Night Rider Stables) runs nearby to her outside.

(½ Mile- :47.08)- It continues to be Dance Dance Dance out in front, entering the turn while leading by a length and a half and seeming about as comfortable as Queen Mia looked on the lead in the previous race. Material World holds second while still having friendly company nearby with Gilgo. Torch Bearer would come off the rail with intentions of splitting these two doing the turn. Lampley has yet to make a move, running five lengths off the pace but she has been a late runner in these early career stages. Curly Hair Katherine continues to run close by.

(Top of Stretch, 1.8F To Go)- Dance Dance Dance has no issue with the turn, staying close to the rail as she enters the stretch leading by about two lengths. Behind her, they’d be three wide for most of the turn before the bottom falls out on Gilgo. Torch Bearer has also passed Material World, but on exit of the turn, Lampley would catch everyone’s attention with a power move a couple of lanes over. A Fresu had made his decision, and now it was time to get this closer running. Curly Hair Katherine attempted to keep up with her for now.

(Finish- 1:35.80)- Halfway through the stretch, it looked like Dance Dance Dance was going to have enough left to make it to the wire and hold off all of her opponents. In the final furlong, we would see Lampley respond to more urging and now she was truly hitting her best stride. This was something that the pacesetter could not match, and Lampley would have enough time to win this race by a head over Dance Dance Dance. Torch Bearer hung tough, and is third by a length. Material World fades back, but still gets fourth place spoils over Curly Hair Katherine and a fatigued Gilgo.
