Autumn Stakes – (Grade lll)
Purse $175.00 – For Three Year Olds And Upward
1 1/8 Miles – Dirt
Woodbine – November 7, 2026
Already proven at the graded level on turf, Whipped brought that class to the dirt with a winning rally in the 20th running of the Autumn Stakes! This six-year-old gelding seems to have found his new home on the main track after just missing by a half-length in the Tokyo City Cup last time out. His lifetime earnings jump to $842.46 with this being his seventh win from thirty-four career starts. The Sidley Stud has now earned a place on this race’s owner leaderboard as Whipped delivered the stable’s first victory. Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson built on her previous success in the event with a second winning ride after taking down the 2015 edition. The Autumn Stakes moved to its current distance just three years ago, but the son of Zakouski has now set the benchmark for future editions. He completed the 1 1/8 miles on the main track in 1:47.27, establishing a new stakes record. Well done! With graded stakes success on both turf and dirt, Whipped is set to be a dangerous contender heading into 2027. His versatility gives Sidley Stud plenty of options and should make him a fun horse to campaign in the season ahead. Congratulations!
Winner: Whipped – (The Sidley Stud, E J. Wilson) Whipped settled back in fourth leaving the gate as Littiputian and Individuation established the early pace. He remained about three lengths off the lead down the backstretch before beginning to make up ground passing the ⅜’s pole. After moving past Transformer into third, this Ontario-bred continued his advance on the outside as the field straightened for home. Whipped really started to motor home at the top of the lane and overtook Littiputian inside the final furlong, steadily cutting into Individuation’s lead. He finished strongly under jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson to wear down that rival in the closing stages and secure the victory by a neck!
Second Place: Individuation – (Mb Stables, R M. Hernandez) The veteran was prominent from the outset and disputed the early lead with Littiputian. Individuation gained a half-length advantage around the first turn and gradually increased his margin down the backstretch. He remained in control around the far turn, completing the half mile in 47.17 & three-quarters in 1:11.04. Jockey Ramón Hernandez started really asking his horse to go passing the 1/4 pole, with rivals closing on the outside. Individuation held his lead into the final furlong but came under a sustained challenge from Whipped on the outside. He could not hold off that rival’s late rally and had to settle for second.
Third Place: Littiputian – (Mojica Racing, P. Moran) Littiputian was quick into stride and held a narrow early lead with Individuation pressing him from leaving the gate. He surrendered the advantage around the first turn but remained close in second down the backstretch, about one length behind. The son of Grandeur continued to track the leader around the far turn and turned for home still firmly in contention. He could not match Whipped’s rally on the outside and dropped to third inside the final furlong. Littiputian stayed on through the closing stages to hold that position behind the leading pair. This six-year-old gelding has been super productive since being claimed for $10.50 back in February.
Fourth Place: Nationalist – (TwinTowersRacing, D. Moran) This colt went back to fifth leaving the gate and saved ground down on the rail behind the leading rivals. Nationalist held that position down the backstretch as the gap to the front stretched to about five lengths. He began reducing that deficit around the far turn and continued to make steady progress once the field straightened for home. The homebred for TwinTowersRacing moved past Transformer inside the final furlong to claim fourth. Nationalist kept on toward the wire but could not close enough ground to trouble the leading trio. This was a much improved outing since he didn’t hit the board in four straight graded-stakes starts.
