The WV Breeders Classic (P1)
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $500.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up Foaled In WV.
1st Dancing Officer, trained by Mb Stables
Its not often i am a loss for words but i really dont know what to say about this winner. The winner of a maiden claimer in the mud he was claimed by his current owner only to fail in two lower track allowances on turf and dirt. Now today he comes out and beat stakes winners by two very easy lengths. I cant offer a reason or justify this performance so i am not going to try.
2nd Blue Eight, trained by Grimley
Stalked the lead but was easily brushed aside by the winner for a reason i cannot understand.
3rd Gentile ll Buono, trained by Sc Lanciano
The easy winner of the Durham Cup last time apparently that is not good enough form to beat a maiden claimer winner.
4th Prince Bishop, trained by Maxmillion Farm
Made ground and looked to have a chance at the furlong pole but was out battled in the end.
SUMMARY
This is one of those results that i just hate writing about. The only thing i can say is the winner was working in a similar ball park as the rest of the field despite poor performances on the track. The good going apparently made enough difference to see him winning although you could ask me a thousand times and i would have laughed had you suggested this result.
