Infowarrior Proves There’s Life in the Old Dog Yet

The Skip Away – Grade III
GP   Race #5   1 1/8m   Dirt   Stake
Purse $100.000  For Four Year Olds And Upward.

1st Dogs Infowarrior, trained by Grimley
Having finished last or almost last in his three races prior to this old warrior proved once again that nothing can be predicted at HRP. Bouncing back to his Whitney winning form in the mud last year, his only one in nine efforts, he ran on strongly to win by a quarter length. His trainer must be thrilled with this rather ‘left field’ effort but they say you cant keep an old dog down and this fella keeps coming back for more.

2nd Spanish Showboat, trained by Mb Stables
Talking of old fella’s this grand old warrior ran his heart out too but just couldnt collar the winner. Signs were that decline was getting closer for him but this effort was sound enough to suggest there’s some wins in the old legs yet.

3rd Mach Love, trained by Mb Stables
Got to the front and looked the winner at the mile but was out battled by a couple of wily old characters in the end. He once again showed he is top notch but seems to be struggling to get back to winning ways.

4th Skeleton Balle, trained by Oval Express Farms
Ran on pretty well for fourth but looks like he needs a marathon trip to show his best and even this mile and an eighth may have been too sharp.

SUMMARY

The old timers dominated this race but looking back at their form they were the class acts in the race.
