GIII LS Handicap

1 1/16th Dirt GIII Stake $200.000 Purse Three Year Olds And Up

The LS Handicap proved to have a couple promising horses that we will want to keep on our watch list as we will likely be seeing much more from them as the summer rolls along.

1st — (2) First Rebellion – Trained by Mb Stables, Ridden by Quinonez L S

Needing a good performance after a very disappointing run last time out First Rebellion was able to rebound with a great performance. He was able to take back just off the pace in a perfect position. This one will be interesting to watch over the summer in the older horse division. Outside of the small blip he is showing steady improvement. Is this a horse that could be a contender come November?

2nd — (8) Crop Duster – Trained by Barcelona Farms, Ridden by Risenhoover S

Two straight races at odds of over 20-1 each time has not deterred this one from running two high quality races. Crop Duster is turning into a very nice three year old that will be fun to watch develop over the second half of the year.

3rd — (5) Ghost Star – Trained by Mb Stables, Ridden by McNeil B

Ghost Star tried a new tactic by going to the lead early which he has never shown before. As they turned for home he was run down by the top two finishers but was able to hold on for a check.
