1st Queen Of The Freaks, trained by Hawaiian Shirt Guy

Setting the pace the whole way and digging in courageously to at least get in a dead heat win. She ran a big race after opening up by three lengths. As she held off all challengers essentially she adds $40.000 to her career earnings and a finally a stakes win. She ended up running the distance in 1:40.26.

1st Lake Wendigo, trained by Night Rider Stables

After sitting in second the whole way she closed on Queen Of The Freaks but couldn’t get by in the end. Although she won she gets a little less than she would’ve if she would have won outright but a win is a win. She proved at least she was good enough to win the race and is still going strong in statebred races.

3rd Adjourned, trained by Team 7 Illusions

This filly trailed throughout and ended up getting beat by a neck. She was grinding away the whole length of the lane but ultimately couldn’t get past the top two. It was a pretty good run from her and with a quicker pace she may have won the race. With the slow pace she the frontrunners held on nicely and she couldn’t get by them.

4th Great Stride, trained by Regency

In her first start against winners she didn’t get beat all that bad only ending up five lengths behind the winner. She might have been a better horse today if she had a race prior to this since this was her first start since last October. Maybe next out she finds an allowance field she can be more competitive with.

Summary

With the top two running one-two the whole way around it showed the pace wasn’t a quick one. Adjourned closed nicely into the slow pace to just miss out on a better finish. These top two may meet again if they decide to run in another FL bred stake race later in the year. Nicely run race in here.
