Our pick to win would scratch out of the Thunder Rumble, leaving us with a field of seven. This would move up Adrenaline to be our top pick, and he would cruise to a win of about three lengths in wire to wire fashion. Adrenaline is trained by Nakamura Stables, and he captures his first Thunder Rumble trophy. The same holds true for jockey Jam Rodriguez, so congratulations to each of them! The race was won in a time of 1:21.13, and that is a new record for the stake! Let’s take a look at it now!
(1/4 Mile- :22.85)- The Nakamura Stables-trained Adrenaline surges to the race lead, and our eventual winner will lead by a length and a half over Maxmillion Farm’s Valance. That one runs between Morethan Meetsthe Is (Night Rider Stables) to his inside and Legalise (D J C Racing Stables). It’s another length and a half to the other three horses, who all run alongside one another. From inside to outside, they are Speedy McGreedy (Luz International), Leary (Santan Stables), and Crocodile Star (Mo Mentum Farm).
(½ Mile- :46.01)- The uncontested advantage continues for Adrenaline, as he looks to get away from the rest of the field already. He’s at least two lengths ahead of his closest pursuers. Valance dropped back to now run evenly with Morethan Meetsthe Is and Legalise. Leary begins to inch ahead of Speedy McGreedy and Crocodile Star further back.
(Top of Stretch, 1.7F To Go)- It’s all Adrenaline in this one, as he continues to pour it on while rounding the turn. Entering the stretch, there is no where near him, as he now leads by three. Morethan Meetsthe Is is second now, as both Valance and Legalise lose ground. Further back, Leary is one to watch as he pulls four wide to look and take over the second spot. That was certainly in reach, but it would be a mammoth task for him to get Adrenaline. Speedy McGreedy and Crocodile Star were not showing much behind him.
(Finish- 1:21.13)- All that was left to do was watch Adrenaline run, as his big lead entering the stretch would be too much for anyone else to overcome since he was still running well himself. It will officially be scored as two length win, but was much closer to three. Morethan Meetsthe Is is second best, with Leary’s run getting him third. Speedy McGreedy didn’t do much but will get a fourth place check, beating Legalise, Crocodile Star, and Valance.
About The Winner- Adrenaline, trained by Nakamura Stables and ridden to victory by Jam Rodriguez, is a three year old gelding by People Pleaser and is out of Risky Behavior. He was bred by Mb Stables in New York as a yearling, and was acquired by Nakamura Stables for $5.020 in the December 2024 auction. Congratulations to the connections! The win is his fourth in 14 starts and first stake win. His career earnings are now $298.820.
