6 KEE Alcibiades (GI) [BC] [KYO]
$350.000 2yo F 1 1/16m Dirt 122lbs
My love for KEE is well documented, and for the 2yo fillies, this race is key in my book… and we look at the field for the 2020 Alcibiades (GI) and boy oh boy is this a nice group of girls and when you’re talking about nice horses, you normally start with Mb Stables and that is where I’m starting in this one. Believe what you want but Not A Big Deal is in fact a big deal… four wins and a second from five starts, two graded wins… what do you want to know. She can run, run big and likes having her picture taken. To make matters that much more complicated, her stable-mate Feral Impact looks like a monster in her own right. Two for three, won a graded race last out and sure does look like she has the world at her feet. Now do they run each other out? I’m thinking not, but let’s put Dan Patch in the mix off of her big run last out in her first stakes effort… she looks like one that could improve and may be a big big horse.
Fall in Lexington is delicious so let’s grab a wobble-pop and get a good view of the festivities.

Well, they’ve given everyone a chance to buy her if they’d wanted to… four-for-four and has moved right through them all, winning two claiming races at SAR in the process. This is her first swing at stakes horses and they just jumped into the deep end with her, so let’s see what’s she’s made of.

Another that could have been tagged out of a $35.000 mdc at BEL, which she won, then took down Alw horses at ELP in her most recent. She’s never been off of the board in three starts and this is her first crack at stakes company. The barn knows how to get them home.

Nice bounce-back to be second in the Spinaway (GI) after a seventh place finish in the Schuylerville (GIII) at SAR. She comes from way back off of it and in these big fields, I like them to be a bit more forwardly placed to avoid traffic. Still, you can’t fault her ability and I’d look for her to give a big showing here.

She bounced in a big way in the Spinaway (GI) and that was a bit of a shocker off of her third place finish in the Adirondack (GII) where she was in the middle of that one throughout. Does she turn it around in this one or is this a sign of things to come?

Steady as she goes, never missing a check in five starts and running second in the Adirondack (GII) then a hard closing third at CD in the Pocahontas (GIII). That was a wet surface in Louisville and she was making up ground quickly… I think distance will be her friend.

Mb loads the gun here today and I mean loaded… five wins from five starts with a near miss in her first start where she was second beaten a head. She took the Sorrento Stakes (GII) at DMR then doubled them up with a big score in the DMR Debutante (GI) so there’s no doubt that she has talent. The barn is a monster, the horse is a monster… I think you see where I’m going.

Mb likes to see what they are made of and here’s another that shows signs of being a great filly. Broke maiden at second asking then scored with a huge late move to win by a head in the Pocahontas (GIII) at CD. As mentioned, that was a we surface and she was moving quick late so she looks like a horse that wants a route in a bad bad way.

This barn knows how to bring the young ones along and she looks like a runner. Broke maiden last out at MTH and she’s never been off of the board in three starts. She was claimed from her first start for $50.000 so you know they liked her right from the first jump. Two am gallops over the surface so they were aiming at this.

This ain’t no jug head… she’s been tough as nails in all three starts, running second beaten a nose in the Pocahontas (GIII) after doing all of the heavy lifting and leading just about every jump except the last. Can she use her speed to get the job done?

Broke maiden at third asking and jumps into the acid bath with this group of fillies. She is another with a ton of speed and is not afraid to flash it. Won at a mile over the DMR fast strip and was game to the wire. Can she handle the raise in class?

Got the job done in her third start beating NY-bred maidens at The Spa and closed well, winning by two lengths when they hit the wire. That was at seven panels, so she seems to like the idea of going longer. She also ran well on a wet strip so she seems good no matter where they run ’em.

Two wins from three starts and her only defeat was a third place finish in the Johnson on the SAR inner turf course. One of her wins also came on the turf, so there is the turf-to-dirt angle if you like that stuff, and she seems to have enough tactical speed to stay close.

Broke maiden in SoFla last out and looks like she can run a little bit. Keep an eye out for her if she doesn’t draw in today.

Broke maiden by five at at GG, so she may be any type and you may want to watch for her in an upcoming race if she doesn’t get in here.
