A quick message to Mauro as I head towards the side-lines… you may want to hire Ali.  She nails the exacta as Lucky Star and the Maxmillion Farm crew knew they wanted this race to go, and their 4yo Filly swooped up around the turn, rallied down the lane to take over at the sixteenth pole, and went on to win The Port Washington by a half-length.  The final running time was 1:39.88 for the mile and a sixteenth over the Firm innerTurf, here at AQU.  Pippin, fresh into the MB Stables’ barn, had the lead in the lane, but could not hold off the eventual winner, settling for the second spot as the 1.50/1 favorite.  It was another length to D J C Racing Stables’ Afar in third, and Asgar grabbed the minor money with Silver Cobra Woman.   Eight lengths covered the field of six.
