The Razorback Handicap – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $500.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st All Take Alydar Stables Curtis B
Well this six year old looks to be in a great state of mind as he followed up his LA Stakes win with a rather commanding and comfortable win here. Traveling just behind the speed he moved up to challenge after halfway and was always in command after that. He has set up a good rapport with B Curtis who seems to be the breakthrough jockey at HRP this year and we could be seeing this one right through to the championship races. The Preakness winner has always promised to be good and on more than one occasion has looked like a champion but he can lose his form a little and we have seen hi jump around trips a little to try and find it again. Two from two this year and just maybe we are seeing him back to his brilliant best.
2nd Cage Rage Maxmillion Farm Dominguez Jo
The lightweights dominated as they usually do and this one thanks to his form mostly being on turf came in here with 117Lbs. But as we all know, the surface seems to have little effect on most horses here at HRP especially the good ones and we saw him run a very similar race as he does on the grass coming from off the pace for second. The winner was giving him weight and looked comfortable so I am not sure that we will see him on the dirt exclusively now although he has certainly added another string to his bow.
3rd Up In Class Mo Mentum Farm Moore R L
Running from the car park he followed route B for the wide draws and went back instead of forwards. Most of his races from inner draws have seen him stalking the pace but over a longer trip today to ensure a lightweight he came home strongly from the back running into third and very nearly grabbing second. Claimed from his normal sprinting role last time this was an encouraging first start for the new stable and I would be expecting him, like the winner to be having his best year at the age of six.
4th Eight West Party TwinTowersRacing Geroux F
Another that became a closer with the wide draw he actually ran a cracker with 121Lbs flying home for fourth and would probably have been second in another stride or two. Rising seven he looks to be as good as ever and will be even better on level weights.
