CD Race #4 $225.000

F&M 4+  122 Lbs (plus penalties) 6 Furlongs

#1 Ifyerwokeyerajoke (TwinTowersRacing/J. Talamo): Last year’s winner of the G1 Test is winless in five starts since.  She’s tried sprinting and routing to no avail since August.  Think she’s back sprinting for good, and she has the talent to compete with these.  Drawn well and needs to get her mojo back if she wants to get to the BC again.

#2 Always A Virgin (Tinkey/D. Cohen): Filly had a run of four consecutive victories going before losing her last five efforts.  Cuts back to a distance where she’s been successful before, and this is probably where she’ll stay given her strong form sprinting.  Has the tactical speed that usually gets her in the right position, just have to hope she remembers how to win.

#3 Penal Pink Candy (Arindel/C.J. Hernandez): Filly knocked around the lower ranks before stepping-up last month and running a very good 4th in the Roxalena.  She only has two wins in eight starts, but she’s got five runners-up to her credit.  Catches a pretty solid group her, so this should be an excellent test for her.  Should be involved from the start.

#4 Honor Is Better (Wood Duck Stables/Mar. Garcia): Barn is starting to hit its stride, and this filly has only been OTB once in her nine-start career.  She’s a stakes-winning sprinter, and she should be tighter after the first start back last month following a four-month break.  Normally puts herself in position, and everything on paper says she fits.

#5 Fly So High (Asgar/J. Loveberry): Filly changed hands twice before making the first start of her career last September.  While she was 4th in that debut, she’s figured things out nicely with three consecutive wins, culminating in the $175.000 Roxalena score.  She’s rewarded this outfit’s patience, and there’s nothing to suggest a regression is on its way.

#6 Christina G (Mb Stables/G. Corrales): MGSW mare has faced the best this division has to offer, and she’s held her own the majority of her 33 starts.  Hasn’t won in five races since September: however, she’s been beaten less than a length in four of those efforts.  Comes back on three weeks rest for this, and that move hasn’t seemed to phase her much, so expect another big effort here.

Final Analysis: Only a half-dozen have signed on for the G3 Colors, but this is a quality field.  We’ll call it 2-4-6 and hope for the best.  Good luck to everyone racing this Memorial Day, and please remember all those that have served as well as those that continue to do so.
