Alydar Stables Needs Brinks Truck to Take Haul, Daemon Wins Lecomte

9  FG   Lecomte Stakes (GIII) [KYD]

   $250.000     116th Mile   Dirt        3yo       122lbs

The rich get richer as Alydar Stables continues on a hot streak… their nice gray gelding Daemon, picked on top by yours truly, scores in the Lecomte Stakes (GIII) by two lengths, stopping the timer at 1:41.19, the fastest time for this race since being changed to a mile and a sixteenth (started as a mile, then 170).  With the favorite being 9/2, this was a wide open race, although you would have expected a bit more respect for the BC Juv (GI) winner, getting even weights in this race.  That’s four in a row, and he may be the current ML favorite for the KYD.  Big Guns Stables’ Mooresy grabbed the second spot in a cavalry charge for the minor money… only five lengths from first to worst.  It was another quarter-length to Wood Duck Stables’ Cherokee Revolution in third, and the same to Asgar’s Spread The World in fourth, both of those carrying double-digit odds.
