A year ago, you could have snagged Roxys Triple Crown out of a $75.000 claiming race… my how a year can make a difference. Now a solid stakes horse, the chestnut colt contested the pace throughout the hotly contested Alysheba (GII) and was able to get up on the wire to win this one by a nose in a final time of 1:41 and 1/5th for the mile and a sixteenth. Royal Prodigy was right there throughout this one and took the hard-luck loss but the runner-up position, just a head in front of pace contender Pinnacle West. This was certainly a race that did not lack a pace or excitement… congrats to Aer Stables for the hard fought victory.
Roxys Triple Crown is a 4yo chestnut colt by Roxy Moon – Charleys Last Winner, by Charley Pride, and he was bred by Dediminds Stable here in KY. This was his fifth win from thirteen lifetime stars, and his second victory of the season. He now shows $568.880 in earnings and certainly is a big horse for the ’16 season.

Roxys Triple Crown broke alertly, lead while five wide into the turn, headed into the backside, pushed wide by foe in mid-stretch, prevailed. Royal Prodigy away well, pressed the pace early, head and head for the lead, battled length of the stretch, nosed. Pinnacle West speed from the rail, disputed throughout while getting out down the lane, game effort. Garibaldi mid-pack early, up to dispute, out-finished. Squwilther taken in hand, some late effort. Sinissippi Eagle just in behind the early pace, contended to the top of the lane, folded. Dogs Inofwaarrior in hand while racing evenly, no factor. Socal Man broke poorly, dull effort. Fearless Eagle never involved, outrun.
