8 FG FG Stakes (GIII)

I hate when we don’t land the exacta, but The Card did have first and third in a race where the favorite was 6/1 and twelve horses were within six lengths of each other. American Generals from the Riggins Racing barn pressed the pace throughout the early stages of Saturday’s FG Stakes (GIII), but disposed of the pace, kept to the task at hand and went clear by a length to land the victory at 7/1 odds. The final running time for the mile and an eighth was 1:44.51 and the FG lawn was listed as Firm. High Voltage’s Manticore was also forwardly placed throughout most of this one but just could hang with the winner, taking the runner up spot by a half-length over Spankys Barn’s Oh Brother, that one in a three-way photo with The Sidley Stud taking the minor look, just a nose off of the show spot.
