Open Race, Time to Stick Your Pin in for Correction

The Correction
AQU   Race #2   6f   InDirt   Stake
Purse $125.000 (plus up to $18.75 for NY-breds)  For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward.

1 You Better Run, trained by RNP Stables
A lightly raced four year old with five wins from twelve she was claimed in her last race
and comes here for a first start for her new stable. Clearly her new owner beleives she has
been mis placed in her starts as they are changing direction completely and bringing her to a dirt
sprint after a large majority of her races have been in turf routes. Crazy things can happen when
drastic changes are made in a horses career here at HRP so i wouldnt be surprised to see a big
effort.

2 Silk Houses, trained by Alydar Stables
Beaten a nose in the grade three Sugar Swirl this four year old has been a model of consistency at
this level and once more should be in the fight at the end. She has to carry a penalty for a statebred
stakes win last summer so that be enough to stop her winning but i expect her usual game effort.

3 Iron Bay, trained by Brave
Another lightly raced four year old with only nine starts for four wins she is realtively unexposed
but seems to have ability so must be taken seriously. Fairly strong in overnights she ran well
enough in the grade three Comely to suggest she is up to this grade.

4 The Generals Out, trained by Hambletonian Stables
The class filly in teh race she is a former grade one winner and has retained her form pretty well for
a few years now. Pretty much restricted to non graded stakes these days she won three of them last year carryinga  penalty in all cases so the penalty she gets today shouldnt be a problem to her. Two seconds in similar races so far this year i would expect another big show today.

5 Way Of The Fox, trained by Night Rider Stables
A progressive looking four year old she was claimed near the end of last season and has since acquitted herself well for the new stale. Two win from three including one over this trip her last work suggests she is ready to take the next step today.

6 Great Spot, trained by Mb Stables
It wouldnt be a stakes race with a fast working underexposed horse from the huge Mb Stable. With only four starts to her name she has won two of them and looked well up to this grade in her last start. She is quick so may find herself catapulted by the wide speed push into the lead and then it may just be a matter of what the race lets her do. A big chance in an open race.

7 Smokin Toni, trained by Rockitpad
Another lightly raced sort she has an excellent record of five wins and three seconds from nine starts. Two of those seconds were at this grade and her seasonal debut was very good so i expect a good effort from her today. The wide gate will give her problems thats for sure and we may find a speed battle between her and Great Spot may scupper both of their chances.

SUMMARY
A typical race at this sort of level, pretty much all of them have a chance and i would expect no more than two lengths to cover them at the end. I fear that the two widest runners may cut each others throats leaving The Genrals Out and Way Of The Fox to fight out the finish.
