1st      Anoushka Titan           Maxmillion Farm          6-1 (HRP) 5-1 (SRF)

If you look at Anoushka Titan’s recent progress for Maxmillion Farm on paper, this win makes perfect sense: claiming wins, allowance win, $100.000 stakes win, third in a grade 3, throw out the grade 1 (too soon), second in a grade 3 and win a grade 3. Perfect progression. Almost makes the odds seem naïve. So, the gate opens and Anoushka Titan breaks out fourth, slides up to third at the far turn, second entering the stretch, takes over mid-stretch and draws clear to a handy two-length win at the finish. 2nd     Youthful Thoughts            Greyhound               18-1 (HRP) 8-1 (SRF)

Youthful Thoughts proved that the late run in the grade 1 Matriarch was an indicator of talent for closing and that at age seven she is a developing young mare as she laid far back in seventh all the way into the far turn and then let loose with a late run that caught all but Anoushka Titan which had opened an uncatchable lead to the wire.

3rd      Reorganize               Czech Out Farms                  23-1 (HRP) 4-1 (SRF)

Reorganize returned to her graded form after a nearly three-month layoff after she had gone off the boil with a couple of very uncharacteristic losses. Today she came out of the gate with determination and the lead and carried it into the stretch until the time off got her a little wobbly-legged, yet she held on with courage.

4th     Ruths House            TwinTowersRacing                 9-1 (HRP) 4-1 (SRF)

Obviously, Ruths House didn’t do as well as I expected, but she beat her odds. She dueled with Reorganize for the first half before the task got to be too much for her and weakened back to fourth holding the rest of the field by a neck.
