Three Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

Well this three year old filly definitely like the extra distance she got and she really did like the soft turf course also. I knew the extra sixteenth of a mile would play into her favor since she was closing at Woodbine last out and ran out of real estate at six furlongs. She ran in 1:18.02 and earned $270.000.

Another deep closing finish right here as this filly came from eleventh place in the early parts to only get beat by a neck in the end. She liked the cutback in distance pretty good and liked the wet going pretty good also. She was rolling late but just couldn’t get there in time for the big win.

One thing is for sure about this filly and it’s that she likes the soft turf because this her second really good race in a row on that surface. She also came from pretty far back and was also only beaten by a neck by the winner and second place finisher. She definitely likes a wet turf track so she needs to find a stakes race with rain on that day.

A pretty good run on the cutback in distance really and a good run for the first time being on a wet track on the turf. She was sitting far back and then made a big rush and was on the lead for a little bit before fading at the end and getting beat by a half length in the end. She ran pretty good in here.
Summary
Well this racetrack was hampered by rain and it made the course end up being listed as soft. For some it helped quite a bit but for some it didn’t help any at all and hurt their chances. Apricot ran a huge race and got the win in here and won pretty nicely. Congratulations Apricot and Team 7 Illusions.
