3 DMR Arnaz Stakes
$100.000 2yoF 7f Dirt 120lbs +penalties
Wow… our picks are horrible this weekend. This was a run-away, and that’s being kind. Alydar Stables‘ Arrowette looked hopelessly beaten for five furlongs or so, but she swung widest of all for the run down the lane and let loose with a hellish closing move to pull clear with a furlong to run and won by daylight, taking the Arnaz Stakes by three (looked like more than that to me) lengths. The final running time for the seven furlongs was 1:22.29 over the Fast DMR main track. Neon Sara, the 1.60/1 post time favorite also closed well to be second, then a length to 99/1 shot Paddington from the Waldo barn. It was a half-length to Southern Silk in fourth, and five lengths covered the field of six.
