LCR was right… as bad as I thought this could go, the rain only made the CC Canterbury that much better…  the winner, Asgar’s Mr Wendal, won by three-quarters of a length, as he covered the five and a half furlongs in 1:05.91, in what has been a real up-and-down career for the 3yo gelding, bouncing between stakes and free races… he secures his second stakes score in this one after being tagged for a mere $5.000.  The minor placings were tight, as Big Turkey, also owned by Asgar, took home the second spot by a neck over Black N Gold Stable’s Sir Lionking, then a neck to Fiddlestyck in fourth.  Nine lengths covered the field of fourteen, and the turf course was listed as Soft.
