Hey, we nailed the exacta (123.00) and it was a nice one!! When the dust settled in Saturday’s The Davis Stakes (GIII), Asgar’s No Real Drama proved best by a length (looked like more) as the gelding stepped out of LA-bred competition for the first time and brought home a nice payday, along with the all-important KYD points. The final running time was 1:41.37 for the mile and a sixteenth over the Oldsmar oval, marked as Fast. Law Dog, from the Riggins Racing outfit, showed me a lot in this race as the gelding closed a late gap and travelled in quite the wide trip. It was a bang-bang-bang finish for the minor money as it was just nose back to Pretty Boy Floyd, trained by Big Jd Racing, in third… then another head to Golic in the fourth spot, that one doing all of the heavy lifting into the lane. Six lengths covered the field of twelve.
