1 Sister Crespi Nakamura Stables Gutierrez R
The stable too this one to lowly TUP to pick up two straight wins in lesser company before bringing her to the Honeybee last time out. A wide draw saw her run well early but she just whacked away for a never dangerous seventh. An inside draw today will give her a much better chance to see the trip out and her works say with the right run se could be a contender.
2 Lonely Ace Racing Stable Fuentes Ru
Claimed cheaply from a PID claimer last year she ran well in a couple of ungraded races for the new stable before a respectable second in The Forward gal. A wide draw last time brought the usual form figures as she ran last beaten nine lengths in the Davona Dale but such is my mistrust of form from wide draws i am willing to forget that effort. She is a capable filly drawn perfectly today and i am sure we will see a more competitive filly.
3 Scary Ghost Arindel Lopez P
Broke her maiden at stakes level and then ran fourth in the Las Virgenes underlining her as a useful filly. She just scraped home in an optional allowance at GP last time but there isn’t much level change between overnights and stakes racing at HRP so i don’t see that as a negative. Her works aren’t setting the world on fire but they men less these days and she hails from a stable that can get a bit more out of them on race day . Must be considered.
4 Seether South Shore Stables Elliott S
Won a cheap maiden at HAW at the end of last year and has run two fair races at higher level since. I don’t see much to give her a winning chance in her form but with most of the best fillies away fighting with the boys she may have a better chance than she does on paper.
5 Surrey Smokey Stover Maldonado E
To be racing against other fillies this must be about the tenth best filly in Smokey stovers stables not that she hasn’t taken on the boys and beaten them already this year. A length in front of Seether in the Santa Ysabel last time puts her in the running and it is a big plus in coming from a stable on fire at the moment. The draw gives her options and she will be a big contender for favoritism.
6 Fire Wolf Mb Stables Carrasco V R
She may have only raced the twice but this is no doubt a filly on the up and she comes from a stable that can spot talent. She ran a nice debut before her maiden win which was in a decent time. Her works say KYO contender in the making and today may be the start of her journey.
7 Swiss Skydiver Crocker Ggs Bahen S R
Well what do we see here its the old HRP special of a strange looking form line as she went fourth and second in good graded stakes races to a terrible eleventh in non graded company all thanks to the draw. It is these sorts of form lines which make the draw so obviously important but on the back side of this of course here she is drawn wide again. Certainly capable at her best but who knows what will happen from the seven draw today.
8 Gazing Angie Night Rider Stables Gallardo A A
The stable often pops up with a winner like this one who works well has some OK form and then starts a big run in these types of races but though she is working like a stakes winner she may be up against it from the dreaded outside draw. She ran well on the grass last time but i was more impressed with her maiden win on the dirt before that so i think she may be the best outside bet in this race.
SUMMARY
This looks like it may go to Surrey or Fire Wolf but my bet would be each way on Gazing Angie
