  • Gaslight Makes It Look Easy in Wire-to-Wire Win in The Peter Pan

Gaslight could have run in the KYD last week, as he would have had enough points to get in as an also eligible ahead of Fun Runner. However, his trainer, Mb Stables, cannot have more than three horses in the race, so the gelding was instead sent here to AQU for The Peter Pan.

  • Gorilla Glue Makes Late Run Stick in Runhappy

Gorilla Glue wasn’t given much of a chance by the betting public, going off at odds of 21/1, making him the second longest shot on the board. We didn’t have him in our picks either, but the gelding stepped up and showed his good side en route to a win by a length.

  • The Gate Is Full for The Peter Pan

The Peter Pan is an appealing race for three year old that always runs right between the KYD and the PRK, and will give us a good blend of horses that were on the TC trail but not able to get into the big race, and others that just beginning to realize their true potential now.

  • Small Field for Santa Barbara Stakes

A small field of four will be taking part in the $100.000 Santa Barbara Stakes at SA, a race that runs for the 19th time, but lost it’s graded designation in 2023. It has also seen a gradual purse drop from the $200.000 that it debuted with back in 2005 when it was a Grade 2.

  • Good Mix of Horses in Runhappy

This Saturday, we will have a field of eleven heading to the starting gate for the seventh edition of the Grade 3 Runhappy at AQU. The race has typically taken part at BEL, but we are at that point of the year again where we will be talking about those races being moved to the Big A.

  • Bad Debt Pays Off in The KYD

The 2024 KYD is behind us, and in it we would something that has only been accomplished once before in the race, and that was by the first ever winner: Fuji Ninja in 2004. That is the only other time, ever, that we have officially had a winner go wire to wire. Now, Bad Debt accomplishes the same feat with an impressive victory for Hippyheart.

  • Dayton Prevails in Stretch to Win CD

The rain that fell at CD on Saturday led to several horses being scratched, including the horse that we picked to win: Categorical Maybe. In fact, two of our top four picks were among the horses that would not be sent to the starting gate as planned. Having no issue with the elements was Dayton, who is trained by Pan Farms.

  • Fanatical Empire Stays Hot and Wins American Turf

There was plenty of reason to like Fanatical Empire in the American Turf, but when the rain came that made the turf course soft, the colt may have actually become more appealing. His prior win, the Grade 3 Transylvania Stakes from KEE was also on soft going.

  • It’s Time for The 2024 KYD

The KYD is one of those races that we all dream of winning when we first create our virtual stables, but few of us will ever experience the joy of grabbing the victory. This Saturday, the dreams of one trainer will be realized as they will either win this race for the first time or multiple times.

  • Categorically Difficult to Pick a Winner in CD

The great day of racing continues on the undercard for the KYD, and one of the races is named after this very race track. Simply called the CD, this is a Grade 1 race for older horses at seven furlongs, and like many other races on this day, it runs for its highest purse of all time.
