Winner! Winner! Fried Chicken Takes The Whitney
Even if we took a deeper look into the runners of the Whitney, we probably still would not have come up with the winner. Fried Chicken has been successful since joining Angelos Stable, and he had been working well. Still, this was the Whitney, and he was going up some of the greatest virtual horses out there that are active.

Hawaiian Lord Reigns Again in The Fourstardave Handicap
Hawaiian Lord made history on Saturday, becoming the first horse to win the Fourstardave Handicap more than once as he successfully defended his crown as the race’s champion! This victory gets him the winners share of the $750.000 purse and the coveted spot in the BC Mile.

A Quick Look at This Year’s Whitney
One of the biggest races of the year at SAR takes place in a few hours as 20th running of the Grade 1 Whitney will run, offering it’s automatic spot into the BC Classic. Previous winners of the race include Barbarino, Atomic Twister, Splash Mountain, and Tactical.

Country Roads Take Seven to The WV Derby
Top jockeys and purse money will make their way to MNR on Sunday for the annual WV Derby, a Grade 3 that has $400.000 at stake. Unfortunately, that amount represents a low point for the race (not counting the period when it was a free race), as it is a $100.000 deduction from where it had been since 2018, and much lower than the high point of $750.000.

Pucker Up and Do a Happy Dance on Sunday
Looking at the action for Sunday at ELP, there will be an excellent opportunity for three year old female turf horses to pick up a large purse in the 20th running of the Pucker Up Stakes. It’s still a Grade 3, but one that offers $400.000 for its top finishers, giving trainers plenty of reason to pucker up.

Eight to the Gate for The Fourstardave Handicap
It’s a great weekend of racing all over the country, but SAR will be the center of attention with multiple races that are “win and you’re in” races for the BC. The Whitney is the deserving focal point, but the Fourstardave Handicap will be one to watch as well, since it will send it’s winner to the BC Mile.

General Zod Earns BC Sprint Spot with Crosby Stakes Win
Last month, General Zod just missed picking up his first stake win in the $300.000 Hanshin at CD before settling for second in a photo. He’d head to DMR on Saturday hoping to do a little better while cutting back to a sprint for the first time in eleven months. It would prove to be the right move, as the colt would not be denied in the stretch for the win!

Massive Longshot Frenchman Pulls It Off in San Diego Handicap
No one would ever say that Frenchman wasn’t good in the morning, consistently running off good work times, but he had not brought that effort into races often enough. As such, there were very few people that felt that he could win the San Diego Handicap, and he would go off as a massive longshot, at 189/1.

BC Sprint Spot on the Line in Crosby Stakes
Top sprinters have made their way to DMR for Saturday’s running of the Crosby Stakes, a Grade 1 on the main track that will send its winner to the BC Sprint later this year. It’s the 22nd time that the race has been run, and has seen the likes of Alpha Ultimo, Shoot Skyhigh, and Z One Chance (who did it twice) get the victory.
