  • Layoff Not a Problem for Violent Crime in The Knickerbocker

Violent Crime last raced in the middle of June, and it was an impressive result, getting a win in the Grade 3 MTH Stakes, but was there a problem with him that led to him needing the summer off? We would get our answer in the Knickerbocker, as the gelding ran a very similar race as he did four months ago, and again, that resulted in a win.

  • Unexpected Longshot Superface Party Wins QE II Challenge Cup

Superface Party may have gone off at odds of nearly 20/1, but the betting public must not have read the SRF. We expected the filly to do very well, and had her as our second choice, behind Lakota Wind, who ended up finishing second. Hopefully, whatever reasons were out there that Superface Party would not be a threat can be put to bed with this effort.

  • Untidy Cleans Up in The Spinster

On Sunday, a spot in the BC Distaff would be clinched as a field of twelve took part in the Grade 1 Spinster at KEE. After nine furlongs on the main track, it would be a horse that ran in the BC Fillies and Mares Turf getting the job done, as Untidy would grab the win by a little more than a length.

  • Wild Cats Earns an Impressive Win in First Lady

In a field with proven superstars, it would be one of the more lesser known fillies that took home the victory in the Grade 1 First Lady. Wild Cats was hot, winning three in a row, and returning to graded competition for just the third time.

  • David Beats Goliath at the Wire to Win Breeders Futurity

At the end of the Breeders Futurity, a photo finish was declared between horses that are trained by one trainer who has won over 1,000 graded stakes and another that has less than ten. On such a big racing weekend with plenty of impactful races, it would be one for the “little guy” as Williams9’s Decal prevailed in the headbob.

  • Great Field Lined Up for The Spinster

The big weekend of action at KEE will not end on Saturday, as Sunday will also feature a big “win and you’re in” race for the BC. That will be the Grade 1 Spinster, a $600.000 race, that will send it’s winner to the BC Distaff.
