  • Last Way To The Beac Shows the Way with Comfortable Whittingham Stakes Win

The field for the Whittingham Stakes was very impressive, and certainly worthy of competing against once another for twice as much as the $225.000 purse that was offered for the race. This made it a tough race to pick, and given that, Last Way To The Beac’s recent races against the best in the division overshadowed his recent victories.

  • Arindel Sweeps the Top Two Spots in Star Shoots

It was a great day for Arindel in the Star Shoots, as his two fillies took the top spots! First across the wire would be Genghis Happened, a filly with plenty of experience here at WO that was looking for her stake victory. A length behind her would be Broomstick Storm, a filly who has now been second in five of eight starts.

  • Balanced Field in Wilshire Stakes

Sunday racing at SA will feature the 16th running of the Grade 3 Wilshire Stakes and it will send a field of five one mile around the turf course. The purse for the race is $100.000, something it has always been since the race’s inception in 2006. My first impression of this field is that it is incredibly balanced.

  • Whittingham Stakes Isn’t a BC Race, It Just Looks Like One

They may only be running for a $225.000 purse, but several of the horses in the field for Whittingham Stakes have taken each other on for much bigger prizes in the BC. In the 2022 edition of the race we will see Billy Joel, Iron Nation, and Winter Solstice, horses that have combined for over $10,000.000 in earnings.

  • Star Shoots Will Run with Six

The Star Shoots is an ungraded stake up north for three year old fillies that will be running for the 12th time. It first appeared on the schedule in 2009, but took a couple years off before resurfacing in 2012. Since then, it has been contested on a yearly basis.

  • Juilliard Finishes Strong to Win Long Branch Stakes

This year, we would run the Long Branch Stakes in our virtual world for the first time. It’s winner would be a horse that may not have been running on the main track for the first time, but it was something that she had not done for a little while and even her recent works were on the grass.

  • Cheap Claimer Crimson Sun Pays Big Dividends in The Fleet Sprint Handicap

There are horses that sell or are claimed for large amounts, and then there are those who change hands cheaply. Crimson Sun is an example of a horse that did not have a large price associated with him, as it only took $6.500 for Royalty Stables to claim him last September.

  • Long Branch Stakes Debuts at WO on Saturday

A new stake has been born north of the border, as WO adds the inaugural Long Branch Stakes to the virtual calendar. It’ll be an ungraded event for older females, sending them a short five and a half furlongs around the main track.

  • Full Field for The Fleet Sprint Handicap

With much of the virtual racing world focused on the KYD and KYO pictures, or the next generation of two year olds, this could seem like a quiet weekend. It won’t be, though, as there are strong races out there for older horses this weekend, and here we will look at the 17th running of the Fleet Sprint Handicap.

  • Viable Tactics Bursts onto KYO Scene With SA Oaks Win

Last week, Viable Tactics was scheduled to run in the GP Oaks, but trainer Mb Stables opted to scratch her out of the race. Instead, he would opt for the SA Oaks, and it would prove to be the correct decision as the filly would go on to score a two length victory and put herself in a position where Mb Stables needs to make a choice between three of his four eligible entries.
