Star Studded Field for Lukas Classic
The last two winners of the Lukas Classic will be going to head to head this year, perhaps an even more impressive feat when you consider that this race was not even run in 2020. The 2018 winner, Having A Blast, and the 2019 winner, Eclipse My Knowledge are just two of the six horses in the nine horse field which have won over $1,000.000 for their careers.

Here’s a Toast for Our Champagne Field
The BC Juvenile is one of the most exciting races in the game, as not only is it a championship race for two year olds, it provides bragging rights and an early favorite for the KYD next year. The Champagne is one of the great prep races for it, and the 19th edition of the race is set to go on Saturday.

Bay Of Indy Lights Up the Board in RP Oaks
Bay Of Indy was picked up in private sales in August and entered into a race almost immediately. She ran decently in that race, but now with a little more time together with new trainer Broken Spoke Stables, she was ready to take the next step. Not many believed in her, as she went off at odds of 61/1, the second longest shot on the board.

Wire To Wire Win For Distinctive Edge In Nownownow Stakes
Distinctive Edge did not do much in his first two races, so he was dropped into a MSW at FP that he would end up dominating. Off of that effort, and with improving works, Nakamura Stables moved the colt to the grass for this large test in the inaugural Nownownow Stakes.

Contradiction Gets His Signature Win In PA Derby
Last month, Contradiction raced on this track in the Jones Stakes, and ended up finishing second. It would be the third time out of four races that he had done so, but his winless streak was getting longer. While he’s had a great year, he had not won since October, and with a little more distance this time than he had in his last race, the Shark Force gelding picked up the win.

Power Walk Hopes To Get Back On Winning Feet In RP Oaks
Seven horses will be heading to the starting gate for the tenth running of the RP Oaks, and they are a good mixture of horses who are very well known on the graded stakes scene and others working their way up the ladder.

The time is now for the Nownownow Stakes, as for the first time, this turf race for two year olds will be taking place within the game. With a $500.000 purse being offered, we all hope that this race can become a long time fixture on the schedule.

Hound Scratches, But PA Derby Still Worth Howling About
The calendar has moved into fall, and with that we know that the BC Classic is getting even closer, now being just a little bit more than a month away. As that race approaches, we still have plenty of excitement in the build up, and part of that will be seen in the 17th running of the PA Derby.

Dont Worry Be Jolly Settles the Score in DeFrancis Memorial Dash
A month ago, Dont Worry Be Jolly ran for a $50.000 claiming tag, an apparent downgrade for a horse that had run in graded races at BEL in May and June. He won the race, and apparently won back the confidence of trainer Mb Stables.

Longshot Last Way to The Beac Cruises in The JC Derby Win
It was a good day for longshots Sunday at the JC Derby as those picking in the Pick ‘em, as well as us here in the SRF looked away from Last Way To The Beac and the eventual runner up, Immookielee in favor of other entries.
