1 Dalitierri Girl Our Athletes Prat F
After a second in the grade one Natalma and a fourth in the BC Juvenile fillies Turf there was plenty expected as this one turned three but she has been fairly lightly raced and largely disappointing. Having said that she was pretty impressive in her last start winning the KD Preview Ladies Turf by an easy two lengths. She has generally won her races off the front and seems to need to get an uncontested lead to run her best, she may just get that here form the one box but i would imagine the outside speed pushed horses may make that difficult for her.
2 Blonde Art First Class Stable Talamo J
Has run very nicely since being claimed for just $16.000 back in April winning a couple of ungraded stakes. She’s no superstar but at this level she can be very competitive especially if the ground comes up a bit easy.
3 Lancashire Hotpot Blazin D Desormeaux K J
Another that has done well since being claimed earlier in the year she took an ungraded sprint race before running nicely to be second in the Solana Beach Stakes and then going in a few black books when closing hard to be beaten less than a length in the Noble Damsel Handicap. That last run put her in with a very nice chance in this fairly soft field.
4 Queen Nebulae Gdp Inc Bejarano R
A winner of two this year she has been running well enough in fair company to be given a squeek in an open field. Interestingly this is only her second race on turf and her second route race and those sort of extreme switches can bring about an improved run so i wouldn’t be leaving her out of my tope three.
5 Southern Sky Our Athletes Gutierrez Mario
Fair form over the summer she has been showing some improved work times and her easy win in optional claimer company was very good considering she ran under 1:33 which is stakes winning stuff. She may just be the bolter in this field.
SUMMARY
Southern Sky interests me because she is improving at the right time, and I think it may be between her and Lancashire Hotpot.
