Berlin Dictates in The Brooklyn

The Brooklyn – Grade II
1 3/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $200.000 Open 4-Year-Olds And Up.

1st Berlin The Sidley Stud Franco M

When this horse is in the right mood, he is one of the best and today he certainly was in a good head space. As I expected the wide gate and an on-pacer he went to the lead early on but the tactical mistake from the others was to let him go and set an average pace. When a horse this good gets away with a cheap lead, he will always be hard to pull back and he piled it on round the home bend and set up a winning break, which he held on to pretty easily. This is his third win this season and he marches on, if he stays in this frame of mind, he could end up a real contender for the BC Classic.

2nd Eight West Party TwinTowersRacing Vazquez R A

Ran another really honest race but couldn’t reach the winner and ended up a very good second. This horse keeps knocking on the door of a big win and knowing this trainer he will continue to be given his chance to pick up a big win this season.

3rd Face The Lunatic Martyparty Ortiz I Jr

Closed off an average pace so was never going to reach the first two but did the best of the rest and ran pretty well considering. He continues to run well in these types of races and a win at graded level can’t be far away.

4th Mr. Frost Night Rider Stables Castellano J J

Was set an impossible task but stayed on for the last paying place. His very late running style will always be a huge disadvantage, especially at this level so if the trainer can find a way to inject some early pace without losing his good finish he could repay the stable confidence.
