1 Class Four Chili King Stables Husbands P 123 —

Her works are good, but her form is a little off the boil and she really hasn’t shown the same effort since her good third in the San Clemente last summer. It can take a while for some of these four-year-olds to adjust to adult life and she is definitely worth persevering with, but I do wonder whether today may not be the day. She is in it and has some great works so this being HRP of course she could easily turn the terrible run in the Very One 6 weeks ago right around.

2 All By Myself TwinTowersRacing Bridgmohan S X 123 —

This seven-year-old is very consistent and is still working as well as ever so being gifted the perfect draw she must be a serious chance here. It is not very often I say that a horse from this stable should win, but for once I can confidently say this has a great chance on form. Running from a bad draw in the Orchid she kept on really well to be second over this trip last time out and that is probably good enough to see her home.

3 Power Royale D J C Racing Stables Pennington F 123 —

The winner of ten and nearly 50 percent of her lifetime races she is certainly a chance here. She rounded off last year with a great second in the grade one Matriarch but after a pass mark in the Pegasus on seasonal debut she was a beaten odds-on favorite in an allowance at SA. I wouldn’t read too much into that fourth in an overnight because that race was every bit as good as a graded stakes race so going on her best form and her fast works, she is another with a real chance of winning.

4 Blind Appeal Nakamura Stables Gutierrez Mario 123 —

The winner of that allowance at SA she was about a half-length better than Power Royale that day and there should be no reason she can’t do that again today. She came into that race after a terrible run in the American Oaks and that brought up the one thing that may beat her today and that is the trip. Her works are sharp but then everything down two a two-buck claimer at BTP works like stakes winner these days but if she sees the trip out today, she has every right to be a big part in the finish.

5 Tessas Star Glorify Stables Geroux F 123 —

A regular at this grade and she has put together some fine efforts in her fairly light career, winning three but placing in nine of fifteen starts. You would have to say she is a top three chance the only thing stopping me picking her as a winning chance is the fact that she hasn’t won a race since 2022.

6 Zalinda Threshold Lezcano J 123 —

At her best she would out class this field, but her last two runs have been a little lack luster and she could be entering the last chance cafe before she goes to the paddocks. The draw monster hasn’t been kind to her in her last four starts so maybe that is HRP’s way of telling the trainer it’s time to hang up the horseshoes.

7 Grande Sunset Mb Stables Velazquez J R 123 —

This mare was good enough to run third in the grade one Alabama in 2022 so ignore the fact the trainer has been plundering lesser races with her recently. She comes here off three wins in a row and horses from this stable seem to be able to do what others can’t from the wide draw, so it is easy just to pick her as the winner.

SUMMARY

Grande Sunset will probably start favorite and will probably win but this is no open and shut race as there are six others who easily boast good enough works and form to beat her. I think All By Myself just tops the pile for me, so with her good draw I will take her to beat Grande Sunset.
