LA Race #2 $100.000 1-Mile Dirt

CA-Bred 3+  119/123 Lbs (plus penalties)

Track Record-1:34.40 (Dark Blue Torino-2020)

Stakes Record-1:34.50 (Tactical-2019)

Blamethespeedparty battled throughout the $100.000 Bertrando Stakes with A Boy And His Dog and the 3yo gelding was able to keep his nose in front as he crossed the wire victoriously in 1:34.92.

Racing in the two-path as his rival hugged the rail, Blamethespeedparty set fractions of :23.53, :46.79, and 1:10.16 and held a one-length advantage as he reached the home straight.  By the time he reached the sixteenth-pole, the lead was down to just a quarter of a length over A Boy And His Dog as Command Me and Knoblauch got within just over a length off the frontrunner.  Digging deep, Blamethespeedparty refused to allow anyone to pass him and his nose hit the wire .01 of a second before A Boy And His Dog.  Command Me was third with Knoblauch finishing fourth.

Blamethespeedparty improves his record to 10-3-3-3 and upped his earnings to $300.990.  Congratulations to him and Martyparty on their victory in the Bertrando Stakes at LA.
