Boardwalk Authority Shows Authority in The Empire Distaff

-The Empire Distaff
Purse $250,000 (Fillies and Mares 3+ Foaled In NY)
South Ozone Park, NY

Boardwalk Authority proved too tough late and held sway from the eighth pole home under strong urging by Jockey RM Hernandez to take the Empire Distaff for owner/trainer Winning LInk Stables. The four-year-old filly held on to beat a fast-closing Mightiness from the Team 7 Illusions barn, our top pick in the preview. Childe Girl from Nakamura was our long shot play and didn’t disappoint, running on to finish third.

Of the rest:

Children Of The Sod from Onlineracingclub.com pressed the pace and never really gave up, she just tired the last eighth of a mile and held on to the 4th spot of the superfecta.

Ignore Tucker from Big Guns Stables simply got too far back today and wasn’t able to produce the close needed to score. Made up some ground, but it was just a little too little, too late.

Offlikeapromdress from Night Mare Racing had about the same run as Ignore Tucker, just got too far back and by the time she kicked it into high gear the race was over.

El Grande Latte from Black N Gold Stables found her elders just a little too tough to get by. She closed some ground, but like the two that finished directly in front of her, just a little too late.

Lonely from DJC Racing Stables sat midpack for most of the trip and then backed up in the lane to run eighth.

Go For Glory from Mb Stables never got close to the pace and found her elders, and everybody else today, just too tough to handle and she ran last.
