One of five graded stakes at GP on Saturday, The Rampart-G3 is a showcase for 3yo+ fillies and mares going 1-mile on the main track with $100.000 on the line.  The sophomores get in at 120 pounds while the elders have to carry 123; none of the seven slated to run will deal with any penalties on the scale.  Eight drew into the race; however, after a scratch, only seven will compete so let’s take a look at the field for The Rampart-G3:

#1 Jensen (Night Rider Stables/J. Bravo 123): 5yo mare has only made a handful of starts this season, but her 2021 dirt form says she is a competitor at this level.  Draws the rail and loves the one-turn mile.  Big chance.

#2 Tall And Fast (Arindel/El. Gonzalez 120): Sophomore lass hasn’t missed too many dances, but hasn’t won since February.  Can’t fault the company she’s kept, but would like to see her be more consistent.  Can’t endorse.

#3 Hearts (Jediminds Stable/P. Lopez 123): 4yo enters off of a dominant win at the $50.000 N2L level and has worked well prepping for this.  Big class hike here and don’t think she gets her way on the front-end.  Looking elsewhere.

#4 Denim Queen (First Class Stable): SCRATCHED

#5 Techno Slayer (The Sidley Stud/J.R. Leparoux 123): WV-bred has won $150.000 worth of purses in her last two efforts against CT company.  Open company and not her home surface makes her an iffy proposition.

#6 Pink N Bold (Iolaus Racing/L. Saez 123): Just missed in CD G2 that would have put her in the BC, but hasn’t neared equalling that effort since.  Lighlty-raced this season, so she should be fresh but don’t think the one-turn mile is her game.

#7 Freelance (Nakamura Stables/E.J. Zayas 120): Sophomore filly wired $100.000 foes at DMR in her latest and takes a logical step-up the ladder here.  Barn doesn’t mind putting one on the front-end and she could prove tough to catch.

#8 Five Star Queen (Angelos Stable/C.J. Lanerie 123): 4yo filly has run three consecutive strong races and looks to be improving still.  Probably drops back and makes a run, but she looks like a 7f/one-turn mile kind of horse.  Win contender.

Final Analysis: 1-8/8-1 seem to be the most logical conclusions.  Good luck to everyone in The Rampart-G3 at GP.
