2 KEE Breeders Futurity (GI) [BC]
$600.000 2yo 1 1/16m Dirt 122lbs
You know what’s better than a day at KEE? nuthin… absolutely nuthin!! Two-year-olds will be the name of the game for the Breeders Futurity (GI), a mile and a sixteenth event on the main track, and we get a full field of fourteen plus a couple of hopefuls and this one will probably send a couple/few to the BC Juv races. I’m going to give Lion Command the slight edge today off of some sharp races leading up to this. He broke maiden and won an Alw race at CD, then was third (DH) in the SAR Special (GII) before a close-up fifth in the DMR Futurity where he was only a length back in a race that was bang/bang. You always have to look at the Big Barn in any race, and his one/two of Inviting and Falling For You keeps that thought going. The prior had three wins in a row to kick-off his career, then was a close-up third (DH) in the SAR Special with the top selection, and just missed last out when second (DH) in the Hopeful (GI). The latter broke maiden against a nice field of FLA-bred stakes horses and has been close in all starts… he is to be feared. Fractious has been hot and has a nice pair, Exorcist being the key to me as that one broke maiden and was claimed by this barn, then won at first asking taking the Simcoe at WO, facing CA-bred stakes horses… he has speed to burn, and that is always dangerous. There’re a few others that will raise an eyebrow, so let’s get a good spot down by the rail and watch what should be a bunch of future stars. Heck, even Ali picked a couple.
