Bubba Looks to Make Some Street Sense

Street Sense – Grade III [KYD]
CD Race #9 1 1/16m Dirt Graded Stake
Purse $200.000 For Two Year Olds.

With KYD points and $200.000 on offer it is a surprise that only six turned up for this but with the BC just around the corner it gives a great chance to some fillies who missed out on making the big dance, here is how they line up:

1 Hereslookinatya Nakamura Stables Murrill M 120 —

Has been handed two wide draws in his two forays into stakes company so will relish this ace draw today. Impressive in his maiden win and did well at allowance level he is untested really but has finished well down the field when upped to black type company. If he can get a decent run from this draw, he must be a contender.

2 Panionios Fractious Beschizza A 120 —

It’s always great to see an unbeaten horse and this boy has gone three from three including an impressive black type win last time. If you have to question a record like that it is the fact that he hasn’t raced beyond five and a half furlongs but he hasn’t been faltering at the end of his run, so I expect him to see it out.

3 Smooth Criminal Riggins Racing Leparoux J R 120 —

A six-start maiden before winning over this trip last time, sometimes the penny can drop with long time maidens so I wouldn’t be holding that against him. I like the fact that he lapped up this trip in his maiden win and his works are on a par with the best of these so the distance will be a big tick in her box.

4 Bubba Would Luz International Torres C A 120 —

Looks to be the class choice here after a close-up finish in the SAR Special and then a fine third in the Iroquois. His works are sharp, and he could well be the number one choice.

5 Transformer Oquinn Farm Bejarano R 120 —

Plenty of untapped potential here and a small field will suit his come from behind running style. I was really impressed with the turn of foot he showed to win a decent allowance at ELP last time, but it can be a tough game to play on this race engine and he will need things to go his way.

6 Free Agent Fractious Garcia Mar 120 —

His run in the Champagne was better than it looked as he made up plenty of ground to be sixth beaten just a couple of lengths. His two wins before that were good enough to put him in that grade one and he is certainly the form choice along with Bubba Would.

SUMMARY

This looks like a 6,5,4 trifecta to me with maybe Bubba Would having the edge.
