2 LA King Glorious Stakes
$100.000 2yo Foaled In CA 1m Dirt 120lbs +penalties
The youngsters will be headed to the post on Sunday afternoon and we look at the field for the 2020 King Glorious Stakes, going a mile on the LA oval. Rare are the times I take the outside post and even more rare are the times in a 2yo stakes, but I’ve landed on Greatest Game in a big way. He just looks like the type that runs his eye-balls out and the longer they go the more he may like it. Won nicely at CD in a race that I thought was too short for him… proves what I know. You always have to watch Mb Stables in these baby stakes so give Quest For Success a look. He’s won back to back, so he sure knows how to get it done. I’ll Put Poor Spaniard in the third spot and cover all of the outside spots… yeap, I’m crazy.
Here’s The Field –
Got the job done on the BEL sod last out taking a MSW by a half length where he went wire to wire for his first win. Steps right into stakes company so you know the barn must like him. His speed could make him a factor.
Got the job done in his second start, breaking maiden at FL on a wet track. He knocked that group out, winning by three so he certainly looks like he could be any type. He has a half-brother that is a stakes winner so it’s in his pedigree.
Another that broke maiden last out and he did it vs Cal-bred MSW at DMR, and was involved in a DH for that win. He seems to have some late running ability, so look for him to come on fast as they head for home in this one.
The on-going saga of breaking maiden last out and it was his second start as he took down high end maiden claimers at DMR. He looked good drawing off by two in the late stages and he looks like he may be a nice one.
Moved from SoCal to NoCal to get the win vs maidens at GG showing some heart to win by a head. Moves back down the coast looking for black-type and it looks like a big step up to me. Let’s see if he can handle that.
Got the job done in his third start to take Cal-bred MSW types down on the DMR turf. He seemed to really enjoy the green stuff, so I’m not sure why they chose this spot, but what do I know. He has a stakes placed half-brother, so can he add to the family value?
Broke maiden at MTH in his third start and first start after gelding, then ran fourth in the Street Sense at CD, his first stakes shot, and was beaten four lengths in that one. Can he improve off of that race and run big here today?
One of only two horses with a pair of wins as he followed up breaking his maiden at GG in start number two with and Alw win at FG where he closed fast and got his picture taken for the second time. He looks like a horse that loves to run and loves to win.
Mb brings in a colt with back to back wins, although this one has been running at lower levels that this outfit normally sends them out. Broke maiden at FL back in Aug then aired by three at LAD in Sep vs OptAlw
Looked good scoring at CD vs MSW and just missed the win in his first effort at the races. This one looks nice and the connections know what to do with a good horse. I hate the post, but he might be able to just get in front and improve position.
