4 SA Snow Chief Stakes
$200.000 3yo Foaled in CA 1 1/8m Turf 122lbs +penalties
We catch a group of nine CA-bred 3yo’s that will be going a mile and an eighth on the SA turf course, and it’s an interesting group. Usually I tell you the ups-and-downs of the horse at hand but there is no real down-side on the top pick here as Annihilator is undefeated in his two starts and really seemed to bloom in that Alw win at LAD where he schooled them by three lengths on a damp course at LAD. He’s working big and looks ready to unload another big race today. I’ll give Mb the second spot and Fallacious is a horse that has won four of nine starts so I am surprised he doesn’t have black-type in his resume.

The last pair have been a tiring struggle as he was fifth at KEE in a graded race then seventh vs. similar over this track last out. Will try to go an extra furlong here today and I just can’t see it in the cards for him. I think he will need his very best to be any part of the goings on.

Was tagged two back for $15.000 claimer and has struggled in back-to-back starter Alw races, so they go for the gusto and put him up against black-type foes. Now, Mb is about as sharp a horseman as you can look for, but unless he found a hole-card in a morning gallop, I’m just not sure this is his spot.

Bang-bang… nothing to this race horse to-do. Back-to-back wins, breaking maiden at TUP then winning by three vs. Alw horses on a soft turf course at LAD, and making it look easy. Solid am gallops leading up to today and I don’t want to go against him.

Bounced back after a couple of tough starts while facing the best of his generation. Got home by two while going back to the turf and facing Alw foes at LAD and made it look pretty easy. This seems like a logical spot and I think you have to give him a serious consideration.

He’s been a tiger since the vet stopped by the barn and made the unkindest of cuts. But, you can’t question the results, a win and a pair of seconds including a nice race at CD vs. stakes horses where he ran a big race to only get beat by a length. He’s another that needs to be taken seriously and given a big shot.

The stronger of the stable-mates in my opinion. He won three of his last five races, but the bad one in there was the only stakes effort over the FG strip. Just missed last out going a mile and a quarter so there’s no doubt he can get the distance. He looks ready to run another big one today.

Three wins from his last five raced, but again, he was seventh while facing stakes horses over the AQU turf. Other than that, he’s been right in the middle of every race, so he should fit well here and I think he cold be a big threat, especially if the track comes up wet.

Got his second win last out taking down a nice purse at CD and beating N1X Alw horses on the turf there. He’s been close in his last five starts and seems to be firing big am works as well. He has a lot of talent and looks like his best races are ahead of him, so this could be a break-out for him.
He won back to back races then it went rough… only a third from his next four races. He was sixth in a 5f turf sprint, and he’s has been in short races for his career. This is a change so let’s see if the change in distance helps to get him back on the right side of things.
