we track phenom” indeed… the one thing I know is if there are clouds in the sky, I’d stay out of the gate if Lucky Star is in it.  Once again, the Calia Stable owned filly bounced out of the gate, then swam home to hold on by three-quarters of a length and scoring another big win in the Demoiselle (GII) at AQU on Saturday.  The bay filly opened a big lead, maintained that lead to deep stretch and then went under the wire by three quarters of a length, stopping the clock in 1:502 for the mile and an eighth over the main track, listed as Good.  Majestic Chai closed well in the late stages to make it interesting, and took the place, a length in front of 42/1 longshot Proud Spell in third.  Shining At Knight was a neck back in the fourth spot.  Six lengths covered the field in this one.

Lucky Star is a 2yo bay filly by Dumbell Press – Shortfin Mako, by Little Shark, and she was bred in NY by her owner, Calia Stable.  This was her fourth win from eight starts, her second graded stakes and her third win on a wet track.  She now shows $543.000 in earnings, and I’m certainly she’s only just begun.  Congrats to the Connections!
