1 Finite Dynark Stables Court J K

This one signaled the come back of one of HRP’s greatest players to the big time when he took the Davis Stakes and looked like he might carry the trainer to a Derby runner. Although only beaten a length in the Gotham he didn’t hit the board so missed out on the KYD but comes here a live chance at some compensation dollars. Drawn well and lightly enough raced to have more improvement in him.

2 Russian Capo Aer Stables Bridgmohan S X

His third in the Day Mile beaten just a half length is probably the best form of the race especially when you see he has the favored two gate. Should be the one to beat.

3 Telladifferentstory Nakamura Stables Geroux F

The Derby winning trainer took this one the KYD route but was killed off by wide draws and in the end after his good third in the Holy Bull missed out. Like the horses name the draw can change everything and he finally got a good draw in the PRX Derby and won nicely last time out. The Nak factor will add a few tenths and the draw is good again so he has a good chance of more compensation.

4 Titan Xd Maxmillion Farm Cohen D

You can’t say this horse hasn’t tried it all, from turf and dirt sprinting to routing he takes every trip and surface in his stride with similar success. Having said that his form isn’t inspiring but of course he can work as quickly as anything else so falls into that category of not good enough on form so far but form can change in an instant here at HRP. A 1.36 and 2 mile work suggests that despite a poor run in the Lewis and being well beaten in an allowance over that sort of trip he can see the trip out today and be a danger.

5 Disco Duck Mo Mentum Farm Baze T C

You have got to love the name but there is nothing in his form lines that suggests he will win today.

6 The End Pan Farms Talamo J

Scraped home ina maiden at the third time of asking but was then thrown in the deep end by his trainer to take on the AR Derby and given an impossible task by the draw generator. Though 13th he was inevitably only beaten 5 lengths so he is probably better than his form suggests.

7 Jacks Full Arindel Gaffalione T

If recent results are anything to go by the fact that he won a claimer last time out enhances his chances, the fact that that win was on turf and this race is on dirt make them even better! A wide draw and very average form says no chance but he ran 1.33 in that last win and worked 1.36 and 3 for the dirt mile recently so as usual at HRP you can never say never.

8 Kick Rocks Mb Stables Garcia Mar

Gets a rotten draw but i have a feeling this one is better than his form suggests and the win last time was as good as any stakes win so i wouldn’t be surprised to see him carry on the Mb Stables resurgence.

SUMMARY

On form it would have to be Russian Cappo, on trainer form then i would go for Kick Rocks or Telladifferentstory and if you want a gamble then anything else would have a chance. Having said all that i am going for the old school and picking Finite for the win.
