DMR Debutante – Grade I
DMR Race #13 7f Dirt Graded Stake
Purse $300.00 For Fillies Two Years Old.
What a disappointing turn out for a grade one, just the 6 runners, even Mb Stables only has two runners! So here are the runners for the win and your more or less in stakes for the two year old BC hopefuls.
1 Beat To The Punch, trained by Mb Stables
Drawn one stakes winning form, loving the seven furlongs and trained by Mb Stables….look no further for your winner. Since finishing second on debut he has won three in a row including the Debutante and then the grade two Sorrento Stakes. Fast works and just one she hasnt beaten before.
2 Confidently In Love, trained by Mb Stables
Ran third on maiden but has since worked a similar time to his more established stable companion. Maybe she will be a rabbit but with those works she may just be the sort of rabbit that ends up winning.
3 Sweeping Slew, trained by Toppedout
Third behind Beat To The Punch in the Sorrento she is a tough and consistent sort but i cant see where the improvement will be to turn the tables.
4 Ambiguity, trained by Blushing Meadows
Second in the Sorrento she is a quick sort who may find this seven furlongs a test. Again i cant see how she can turn the tables on the winner but she did get shuffled back in the Sorrento so there may be some improvement in that run.
5 Plumage, trained by Sir Daniel Martin
One of the only horses Beat To The Punch hasnt beaten yet she put in a flying late finish to be an eye catching fifth in the Schuylerville before a very impressive win in the Adirondack. She was long odds that day but won like a favorite and she may just be the best $15 auction purchase of the season.
6 Mexican, Team 7 Illusions
Fourth in the Sorrento she had to cope with a horrible draw that day and did pretty well in the end. Sadly she again gets a wide draw today and i cant see how she can turn the tables on those that beat her. As always her works are good enough but the draw may beat her.
SUMMARY
I was very impressed by Plumage in her last two starts but she will have to improve again to put away Beat To The Punch.
