- Natural Flower Maxmillion Farm Desormeaux K J
She ran in the Grade II Monrovia Stakes here in January where she came from off the pace but ran out of room to run, and went on to finish second by a neck. That race was at 6.5 furlongs. Prior to that she bombed in the BC Turf Sprint Grade I. She is 0 for 4 for routes, but after her last race, I think she might enjoy the longer distance given the chance. Her SRF number is 92.5.
- Tidal Wave Paradise Stable Stevens G L
She won the Marshauas River Stakes Grade III at GP in January going 1 1/16 mile on the sod. She stalked the pace, and took the lead at the 6 furlong marker, and went to go on to win by a ½ length. In November she ran at DMR in the Grade I Matriarch where she showed early speed, but ran out of gas going into the stretch. If you look back to her Grade II and Grade III races at DMR and SA in the early to mid summer, she had three wins all on the sod, and all at route distances. I like my chances here. Her SRF number is 97.5.
- Coldwater Creek Whitewater Stables Baze T C
Recently bombed in the Grade II Monrovia Stakes here in January where she finished seventh by two lengths. Prior to that she has three consecutive wins at distances of 7 to 7.5 furlongs on the sod. The races consisted of her Maiden win at BEL, Allowance win against ON Breds at WO, and her first stakes win a Non Graded Stakes race at GP. Looking to still prove herself at age 4, she definitely could pull it off at a price. Her SRF number is 95.5.
- Sonoma Alabarda Stable Gutierrez Mario
Recently won an open Allowance at FG going short at 5.5 furlongs on the sod to win by a ½ length. She is 100% in the money out of 2 starts on the sod. Looking to try something new for this 5 year old mare. She is 4 wins in 11 starts going long. Not as promising as others in here, but definitely has a chance to surprise us. Her SRF number is 94.
- Lo And Behold Stald Gullis Maldonado E
Comes off two consecutive wins, the last one was in December right here at SA in an open Allowance company for $65.000 going 1 1/8 mile on the sod. Prior to that she ran at GG in the Miss American Non Graded Stakes company for a purse of $50.000 where she went 1 1/16 on the sod to win by a half length. She steps up a bunch today, and a tough call whether she can get it. Owner is 0 for 11 starts this year! SRF number is 94.5.
- Whiskey Wings Team 7 Illusions Blanc B
Finished third recently in the Monrovia Grade II stakes here in January. Prior to that she had three consecutive wins. She ran in the Long Island Handicap Grade III in November at AQU where she covered 1 ½ miles on the sod to win in a dead heat by four lengths. Prior to that she ran in the Grade I Taylor at WO where she covered 1 ¼ miles on the sod to win by ¾ lengths. Her previous win was against Non Graded Stakes company at LAD in the River City Stakes for $75.000 where she won by 3 lengths. I like that she knows how to go longer, and she has won against better company. This should be a good race for her. Her SRF number is 100.
- Eva The Diva Our Athletes Talamo J
Recently ran at DMR in November in the Grade I Matriarch where she finished third by two lengths. Prior to that she finished off the board at BEL and KEE in Grade I and Grade II company. Four back at DMR she won the Grade I DMR Oaks by a head going 1 1/8 mile on the sod. Tough call with her two races in between the third place finish and this Grade I win. Makes you scratch your head, as does she have what it takes to compete at this level anymore? Can she come out with a bang in her four year old campaign? Her SRF number is 96.
