In 2018, a three year old horse by the name of Combat Wombat was making his fourth career start in the Pacific Classic. He had been impressive right from the start of his career, so it wasn’t something that was considered an upset. Now, four years later, with most of the 2018 field either deactivated or serving as sires, Combat Wombat was back in the Pacific Classic.

This weekend will continue to have excellent racing, and out on the West Coast, a spot in the BC Classic will be there for the taking, as well as a $1,000.000 purse in the 19th running of the Grade 1 Pacific Classic at DMR.

Rogue Commando has been stuck on the outside for pretty much her entire career since being acquired by Mb Stables in January, and on many occasions, it’s been a double digit number. For the Jerkens Memorial, the gelding may have thought it was weird to be so close to the rail to the start, but the better post position would help him turn a string of seconditis into a victory.
