The Personal Ensign has been run every year since 2004, but one thing that we have never had in the race was a repeat winner. Starting Over would have the chance to be the first one to accomplish the feat, and she has always taken a liking to SAR, so she seemed to have a good shot.

Twelve Look to Dance the Best in The Ballerina
The biggest day of the Saratoga meet is upon us, and it will be highlighted by the Grade 1 Travers. However, that is just one of many great races, and in the Ballerina, we have a “win and you’re race” for the BC Fillies and Mares Sprint, and it is the first such race for this division, so there is plenty of incentive to win.
Starting Over Looks to Win The Personal Ensign Once Again
It’s a big weekend at SAR, but all of the exciting racing is not going to be on Saturday. Friday will also give us a big Grade 1, as the $500.000 Personal Ensign takes place. This is a nine furlong race on the main track for older females and has been won in the past by the likes of Darling Harbour, Mrs Bombastic, and Z Command, among others.

Superface Party Takes on Exciting Up and Comers in DMR Oaks
There won’t be many heading to the starting gate for the DMR Oaks on Saturday, as only five fillies were entered into the race, making it the smallest field for the stake since 2021. The race appeared right away on the schedule in 2003, and has been run every year except for 2013.
