The BC Turf Sprint is not the biggest race on the BC schedule this weekend, and turf sprinters often go under the radar in comparison to their counterparts that want to run longer, or do it on the main track. That does not mean their achievements should not be celebrated, and on Saturday fourteen of the best at what they do will be heading to the starting gate.

Mami Knows Best in QE II Challenge Cup

Plenty was on the line at KEE on Saturday in the QE II Challenge Cup, with an $800.000 purse up for grabs for a balanced field of eight. Picking up the win would be the post-time favorite, Mami, for Alydar Stables, and it’s her fifth win in nine starts on the year!

Who Should We Love In The QE II Challenge Cup?

The highlight of the racing schedule this weekend will be the $800.000 Grade 1 QE II Challenge Cup from KEE. This is for three year old fillies, and sends them nine furlongs on the turf course. It’s been run every year since 2005, and the purse is at its high point right now, up from $750.000 last year.
