No Clear Favorite in Mineshaft Stakes

The race card at FG on Saturday may be highlighted by the Risen Star and the Alexandra, but there is plenty of excitement on the undercard as well. One of those races is the 20th running of the Mineshaft Stakes, for older horses on the dirt. It’s a Grade 3 that runs for $250.000, an amount that has been constant since 2022.

Untidy Doesn’t Disappoint in The Bayakoa

Untidy came into the Bayakoa looking like the one to beat, and many people agreed, making her the post-time favorite. On Saturday, the five year old mare out of Lil Pink Panther would not disappoint her supporters, stalking the pace early and pulling away from the competition late to win by a length.

Untidy Looks to Clean Up in The Bayakoa

The action at OP on Saturday will feature the ninth running of the Grade 3 Bayakoa, a race that has seen some very good winners in its short history. Nine fillies and mares will take part in the race, including three horses that ran in the BC Distaff last fall.
