Grade III

Familiar Faces Meet in The Troy

Checking in with racing at the Spa on Friday, we will have the 17th running of the Troy, which is a Grade 3 race for older horses. Until 2020, three year olds were able to participate in this turf sprint, but that would change during that year and it has remained that way.

Dominance Dominates In Stretch To Win MTH Oaks

With a name like Dominance, you better be good. Heading into the MTH Oaks, this filly had been successful, but had never taken on a stakes crowd before. It would be her fourth stake for Nakamura Stables, who claimed her for $65.000 at the start of the year and she would knock off a pretty good crowd in that stakes debut.

Z Command Strikes Out The Pitcher Stakes Field

While the eyes of the racing world were at MTH to see the Haskell, the best horse that stepped foot on the track on Saturday was not any of them that were running in the day’s featured race. Pitcher Stakes Is A Phipps Rematch For Top Three

On paper, the Pitcher Stakes is a Grade 3, but there is nothing “Grade 3″ about the $400.000 purse that it offers and the quality of the horses that will be running in the race. We will see a showdown between Z Command and Fashionable, with five others who are very capable of knocking them off and stealing the show.
