Atomic Eclipse Edges Penal Hockey Party to Capture BC Mile
With so many good options to choose from in the BC Mile, not many people got behind Atomic Eclipse. The six year old gelding would go off as the second longest shot on the board at 34/1 and was hardly picked in the Pick ‘em. He came into the race off a couple of runner ups in Grade 2’s, which are results to be proud of, but others in the field just seemed to have raced in tougher spots and also had success in them.

Lady Sammyantha Prevails in BC Fillies & Mares Sprint
The top female sprinters made their way to SA to crown a BC champion amongst them in the running of the BC Fillies & Mares Sprint. There may be races that get a little more fanfare, but that doesn’t mean that we should not give these fine runners their just due. Amongst them was Lady Sammyantha, a five year old Ginger Haggis mare who was making her second appearance in the race.
Painville Brings the Pain to the Field in BC Fillies & Mares Turf
The running of the BC Fillies and Mares Turf featured a couple of absolutely elite horses going up against others who were eager for the opportunity to give them the pain of coming up short in the BC. In such a deep field, Painville was not made one of my choices for the race, simply because of the quality of competition.
